Allow us to make your Arctic dream a reality and create memories that will last a lifetime, whether you choose to stay for just one night, a few days or simply wish to take a look around.
Founded in 1989 ICEHOTEL is the world's first hotel made of snow and ice and is constructed each year with the help of artists from around the world who design, sculpt and carve unique creations to create an art exhibition like no other. With an inside temperature of a consistent -5°C to -8°C, the cold rooms feature beds made from ice on which lies a mattress covered with warm reindeer hides, add to this a cosy thermal sleeping bag and you are set for the night. Choose the standard Ice Rooms complete with snow and ice décor or opt for an individually themed Art Suite, each with its own unique and often surreal hand crafted interior adorned with incredible ice sculptures.
You can now experience the unique concept on 'sleeping on ice' all year round with the introduction of ICEHOTEL 365. This permanent structure sits alongside the original and mirrors the same fantastic architecture and visual design. In addition to the beautifully crafted Ice Rooms, and Art Suites, ICEHOTEL 365 also boasts lavish Deluxe Suites. Offering the ultimate in indulgence the Deluxe Suites go the extra mile providing a heated relaxation area, ensuite bathroom and sauna directly connected to your super-sized cold room.
ICEHOTEL is open for day visitors between 10am-6pm with self-guided tours available, however outside of these hours the hotel is open exclusively for overnight guests.
After checking into your room you are invited to join one of the guided tours which will allow you to gain an insight into the incredible feat of construction that takes place each year and marvel at the myriad of unimaginable interiors offered each season, each one different to the last and the WOW factor just keeps on coming.
You will have access to your cold room from 6pm, however the trick is not to settle down too soon. Dine at one of the two 'warm' restaurants, either the Scandinavian styled ICEHOTEL Restaurant or the more rustic Homestead Restaurant, before heading to the ICEBAR to acclimatise. Then hat, gloves and warm woolly socks at the ready, it's time for bed!. After what may be your most surreal night yet, you will be woken the following morning with a cup of hot lingonberry juice before heading into the warm for breakfast.
You may wish to stay for longer at this iconic hotel and this is certainly possible with additional nights in the hotels 'warm' accommodation or you can combine your ICEHOTEL experience with other hotels in Swedish Lapland such as nearby Camp Ripan or take the Arctic Train south to the equally unique Treehotel.
Both summer and winter activities are also available to complete your Arctic experience from the usual dog sledding, snowmobile and reindeer experiences to the more unusual ice sculpting classes, sauna rituals and wilderness skills.
As an extension to a longer itinerary or as a standalone experience this really is an opportunity not to be missed whilst visiting Swedish Lapland whether you are there to witness the Northern Lights or experience the magic of the Midnight Sun.
This itinerary can be offered as a stand alone experience or tailor made to your requirements for a longer stay combining warm and cold accommodation with your choice of winter activities.
Price is based on 2 persons travelling and sharing a room and is dependent on travel dates and length of stay. Please contact us for more specific pricing.
