Description
Get to see the best on this short wildlife holiday in Sri Lanka. This nature holiday concentrates on the south of the island. You will encounter elephants in Uda Walawe and visit the Elephant Transit Home as well as encounters in the wilderness of less visited Lunugamvehera National Park.
Onwards you reached Yala National Park, fabled dry zone holding the densest population of leopards in the world. Sloth bears and a rich bird life also complement your safaris here. Whilst time out of the park can be enjoyed resting and indulging in the delicious food in camp.
Finally, you return along the coast to the fishing town of Mirissa with its colourful harbour full of brightly painted fishing vessels. From here you sail out in search of leviathans. Blue whales along with sperm whales and other cetaceans feed in the rich waters just off the coastline where the Continental Shelf drops away steeply. The waters here are particularly rich and during the season from November to April are a busy feeding ground for whales and dolphins.
This is just an example of possibilities available for holidays to Sri Lanka. Price is dependant on season, style of accommodation and length of stay. Please contact us for further details or to create your tailor made your holiday.
