Description

During this 8 day small group escorted tour, and under the expert guidance of your local knowledgeable guide, gain a greater understanding and appreciation of this most beautiful part of Iceland.

Sparsely populated, this stunning region is dotted with fishing villages, each with its own unique atmosphere and tales of Icelandic folklore. Rugged cliff faces are home to nesting seabirds, Arctic fox roam the grassy meadows and seal's languish on the shoreline rocks.

Day 1.
On arrival in Iceland there is an opportunity to relax in the thermal waters of the Blue Lagoon before continuing on to Reykjavik.

Day 2.
Leaving the city behind explore the scenic coastline of Hvalfjordur, witness spectacular waterfalls and powerful hot springs and cross the spectacular seascape of Breidafjordur Bay.

Day 3.
Take a stroll along Raudisandur beach, home to curious seals and Arctic skuas, and behold unusual treasures at a quirky folk museum before reaching Iceland's, and Europe's, most westerly point. The steep cliffs of Latrabjarg teem with prolific birdlife including puffins, gannets, guillemots and razerbills, fearless in their safe environment from foxes, they provide outstanding photographic opportunities.

Day 4.
View the spectacular Dynjandi Waterfall, take a dip in a thermal hot spring and sample Icelandic specialities before arriving in the vibrant yet charming fishing village of Isafjordur, the region's largest town.

Day 5.
Explore one of Europe's most remote corners as you cross Isafjardardjup, the largest fjord in the Westfjords, to an abandoned settlement where Arctic fox roam amongst the colourful wildflowers.

Day 6.
Visit the Arctic Fox Center in Sudavik, discover ancient Saga folklore and history in Laugar and soak in thermal pools hidden amongst nature.

Day 7.
As you return to Reykjavik today via Iceland's West Coast, meet modern day Vikings, sample freshly made ice cream at a local dairy and take a hike over moss cover lava to Grabrok volcano where you are afforded magnificent views of Glanni waterfall.

Day 8.
Your time in Iceland has come to end however there is time to explore Reykjavik before your afternoon flight.
